Financial Coach --Head Start Program

SUMMARYThe role of the Financial Coach is to provide one-on-one personal financial coaching services.
The Financial Coach will have proficiency in the following:
developing meaningful personal relationships; identifying and understanding financial issues and financial services that can help individuals achieve specific financial goals; conducting training and public speaking; developing and implementing a marketing and outreach plan; working in a professional manner, both independently and collaboratively with a team; and entering data into Stand By Me data management system.
Responsibilities Financial Coaching Work with Stand by Me partners and constituencies to ensure that participants achieve goals.
Assist and empower customers to identify and assess their personal goals.
Coach, mentor, and motivate customers to clarify their options and actively implement their financial goals.
Understand the steps needed in pursuit of customers' financial goals and assist customers to achieve individual financial milestones.
Become familiar with community resources and services posted to provide customers with referrals to program partners to achieve specific financial goals, such as home ownership, debt consolidation, and foreclosure prevention.
Work collaboratively with other coaches throughout the state as needed.
Develop meaningful relationships with customers, community partners and program partners.
Participate in all financial coaching training programs offered by $tand By Me.
Participate in monthly statewide coaching meetings.
Ensure achievement of financial coaching outcomes.
Maintain professional approach by refraining from injecting personal beliefs into relationships with customers and partners.
Data Management and Reporting Ensure completion of all Stand By Me customer forms.
Track all workshops and activities utilizing required sign-in sheets.
Manage and input information on coaching, workshops, FAFSA, taxes by encouraging customers to utilize the free tax filing software supported by United Way Worldwide MyFreeTaxes and other Stand By Me program related efforts.
Track program milestones and deliverables.
Set aside a time each day and week to ensure that all data entry is current and complete.
Maintain all documentation for customer intake, credit permission and credit reports.
Maintain documentation and reports of all efforts.
Maintain strict confidentiality of customer information, action and records.
Workshops and Public Presentations Develop competency to deliver program related presentations, workshops, etc.
Ensure that the content and delivery of all presentations are consistent with the coaching methodology used by Stand By Me i.
e.
interactive with audience participation.
Marketing and Outreach Develop marketing and outreach plan with program partners.
Actively promote the program to potential customers.
Work with management team to create awareness about the program.
Attend community events to represent the program.
Work with Stand By Me UWDE and State leadership to develop strategies to integrate information about Stand By Me into all organizational programs and outreach efforts.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
Bilingual/bilingual in English Creole is preferred Certificate in Personal Financial Coaching desirable.
Training will be provided to obtain the Certificate will be available if selected candidate does not have it.
Ability to relate to individuals from varying socio-economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds Solid working knowledge of the financial industry (including credit, lending, savings, budgeting, etc.
) Demonstrated experience in quality customer service Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential Willingness to work evenings and weekends to accommodate program needs Strong written and oral communication skills Computer literate with emphasis on database management, excel and publisher.
Willingness and ability to learn and apply new techniques Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency's service population.
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
Must have valid driver's license which meets the requirements of the agency's insurance carrier.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
